It is for a few early adopters / enthusiasts / developers. I don’t plan on buying it, and I’d say, you want to wait for about 5 years before it becomes cheaper and better (yes, I agree 2hr battery is a joke). But this is a Gen 1 device and it has the potential to become something great. I look forward to it. Remember how shitty mobile were phones 20 years ago?The release of this device is not going to stop META from working on Quest. You are free to buy that (In fact, I have a vested interest in META making more money). However, I’d say, competition is good. Apple (along with it’s countless sheeple, like me) has a good side too. That is to popularize product segments (yes, coming to market few years late and pretending like apple invented is frustrating, even for me).Now if you are airing out your frustration because apple makes design decisions and every other company blindly follow it, I totally understand you. Like they make the normal price of an AR/VR headset to $3500, evert other headset becomes expensive. But apple is not the sole culprit here. It’s the consumers who look at Apple headset and demand their specs/style/features from other manufacturers.
