Still the people react to rumours.  So the Army has to be there,” Military spokesman Brigadier Nihal  Hapuarachchi said, adding, “We need an establishment to manage and  maintain our operations in the area.” He also stated that due to the  presence of the army the situation was brought under control. The two battalions consist of 1000 – 1200 troops and are presently in  the area. They will be inducted into the new 224th Brigade, Brigadier  Hapuarachchi said.DM</blockquote>
