Recently Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya emphasised  the need to have a separate company within the management of the Army in  carrying out development and construction projects effectively at low  cost by following the tender procedure of the government. However Brigadier Hapuarachchi said that the idea is currently being  discussed. But it would mostly come out as a separate directorate within  the Army.
