You believe what you are taught as the meaning of religion or the word "worship" should be the meaning in general. For us we have a different word which is more to do with paying respect. For the lack of a better word in English we use "worship". For an example we worship our parents, teachers, elders and anyone else that we think is worthy of our respect. Buddha was a very remarkable man and Buddhists believe he understood the behaviour of the universe. So for this reason they respect him more than others and "worship" him". It is a way of paying respect and remembering him. Buddhist philosophy has nothing to do with worshipping Buddha.You cannot decide that you are worthy of respect by yourself just because you think you have certain qualities. We will decide it. This view is subjective to individuals. For an example you decide prophet Muhammad is a man to be respected. Some of us believe that He was a war-monger who killed people, who kept 11 wives, who kept slaves and concubines, who had sex with a 9 year old girl. Therefore we do not consider him as a man worthy of respect. However this view is irrelevant to you since you have your own personal opinion.The points you are trying to bring forward to prove that Buddhism is wrong actually has no logical base or strong argument. Why we worship Buddha or What is the definition of GOD are not important questions to Buddhists since, if you look in to core of Buddhism, it offers much more deep, complex and logical theories. </blockquote>
