[QUOTE="imhotep, post: 29002314, member: 562115"] Manual.... You drive the car, not that the car drives you. Learn both. Sometimes could be useful. Once we landed at the Munich airport early in the morning around 8 AM. It was late Spring time and the tourist season. I booked a car from Hertz well in advance as often the prices go up during the season. When we arrived at the rental counters, it was like the fish market. People everywhere, mostly Arabs from the Gulf countries, big queues in the counters. My booking time was up anyway and I bypassed them and went to the counter and gave my booking voucher. The guy at the counter said, Your car is ready but can you drive a manual. I said Yes, and then he told me that he can offer a free upgrade for a new, better car. I booked a standard car and he wanted to offer a larger Station Wagon. He said it's much better since I drive to several countries, comfortable, and very economical being a new Diesel. He said you are doing us a help as well as most of these guys in the queue are waiting for an automatic car. Also he said he will waive off my relocation fee (because I handover the car back in Milano, Italy - so there's an additional fee of several hundred Dollars) Anyway I went ahead, collected the keys and went to the car collection bay with our luggage. The car was a large station wagon and had Italian number plates. Ah... then I realised why he waived off the relocation fee. This car has to be returned to Italy anyway. If someone else is going to take it across, they got to pay the driver. If I knew the car had Italian plates, I would have asked him to pay me back for taking it over. :ROFLMAO: But it was a very comfy car for long distances as we covered Germany, Sweden, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and most of Italy all in one road trip.
