I got the Xperia 1 VI to review since I've been using Xperia phones for +15 years. Right now I am using the Galaxy S24 Ultra so I also did a comparison of the phones. The Good:

Camera colors are the most realistic I've seen on any phone, period. That combined with s-cine tone gives you the most natural-looking pictures coming out of a mobile phone.
The battery is a beast, definitely lasts 2 days with 4-5 hours of SoT per day.
The thermals are great, the phone never gets hot, literally. Unless your game heave for 30 minutes or so.
I like the new aspect ratio a lot.
The SD card is a god-given feature!
Macro Telephoto is amazing!
The Neutral:

I didn't care about the resolution, at first I thought I would notice it but I didn't. I always had problems with the brightness of my Xperia phones, but not with this one.
3 years of software is ok for me, I don't like my phone to run the latest software since it's usually heavy for old hardware.
The Ugly

Both Samsung and Apple give much better video output on their zoom lens, also without Cinema Pro videography is very limited.
There are very obvious bugs in the camera app that need to be resolved ASAP, e.g. it takes 4-5 seconds after hitting the stop button to stop the recording. Or if you don't turn off the auto frame per second, the video looks bad in low light.
The weird refresh rate drop and stuttering are similar to what I experienced on the Xperia 5 V. It's not as smooth as my iPhone or Samsung.
It is Expensive. I know everyone compares the phone to the S24 Ultra, but it's more comparable to the S24+ with the features it gives.
Verdict: I usually pair Xperia with a Sony Alpha camera and do my b-rolls with Xperia. But there is no Video Pro app this time, bummer. I would pick the Xperia 1 VI over the Xperia 1 V, Pixel, or iPhone. There are too many compromises right now on the camera app to favor it over my S24 Ultra, it's a great phone nonetheless if you wanna stay with Sony.
