Never was interested in the Volvo.. but I had the 320d for a short time.. (about 6 months) and sold off Pros 1. Fuel consumption is phenomenal ... does almost 14- 16 kmpl even in heavy traffic. Bloody brilliant. absolutely the +++++ point of the car is that 2. Acceleration is not really great compared to the 720i or the 540d .. but still can propel you fast enough to overtake the front vehicle with ease. Got massive torque in the engine, so it can haul your ass anywhere even fully loaded. 3. Pin point drive (as with all bmw cars) steering rack and the response is just amazing. You can turn on a dime and really put your skills to the test if you want to do a bit of hard core fast driving. Amazing response and feed back from the car 4. Gear change is silky smooth and intelligent.. changes rapidly when in incline and kicks in to high when needed... mostly it monitors the foot response brilliantly and changes uber fast ! Cons 1. Not enough space. ... no fucking kidding... it was the MAIN reason i sold the car off. NO room at all. My wife's little Micro Panda has more space inside than that. 2. The air glide angles of the body work is crazy... drives you nuts when trying to wash it. 3. Huge drive shaft running across right smack in the middle of the car, almost creating a boundary wall. So no leg space for the back seat passengers. 4. Stock seats are quite un-comfortable. 5. Service changes are pretty high considering 320d has most of the racing tech built into the vehicle, so much of the components are pretty expensive. 6. Again... SPACE ! .. it's only a 4 seat car.. the 5th seat is there for just to kill space. Crazy hard to travel inside. Hope you got your answer ! So my final verdict... Absofuckinglutely great car if you are a bachelor or just married with only wife and got great big distances to travel daily......... Of course it would be serious fun if those roads are scares of traffic and you can really put the pedal to the metal and experience the real raw & explosive power of the BMW V8 supercharged engine. That engine will eat the miles like pop corn and haul you like a dragunov sniper bullet with absolute precision and accuracy. That car.... is one fuck of a treat to drive on a long, empty and windy road.. trust me... No fucking wonder they call it the "Ultimate driving machine" ... it is one undoubtedly.. .but if you are looking for space and comfort... look elsewhere or another model.. may be the 720i long wheel base ! ... quite bloody expensive... but you can travel like the god him self ;)
