Message: <blockquote data-quote="urasika" data-source="post: 2189030" data-attributes="member: 59647">An explosion occurred near the Youth Centre in Polgolla, Kandy a short while ago (June 6). It is reported that 2 people have died and 12 other injured as a result.  This is the second explosion to occur today; 21 people were killed in a claymore explosion that targetted a bus earlier in the day in Katubedde, near the Moratuwa University.  Both incidents carry the signature of the LTTE, an internationally condemned, ruthless terrorist outfit.    According to SP Kingsley Ekanayake, the explosion has occurred in a  private bus  plying between Wattegama and Kandy close to the Teacher-Training College in Polgolla. This was also confirmed by Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara. The  private bus was plying  to Kandy from Wattegama  when the explosion occurred. Further investigations are being carried out by the Police.
