It's World Heritage Site and deserves a visit. It was first a Vishnu temple and then later converted a Buddhist temple. It took nearly 35 years to complete. There are hundreds of temples around Angkor itself built on a similar Hindu architecture.All walls have decorated bas-reliefs depicting various stories. Unusually these are done in the anti-clockwise direction. Also the temple faces West, making it nice at sunset too. The climb upto the very top mentioned in this video takes about two to three hours (as you got to see other things around till you get to the very top) Most guides will depart, leaving you here to do the other sight seeing in the temple you like to do on your own.Cambodia is a very cheap place to visit. Move away from the cities to the rural areas. Quite nice. People are very friendly too. One interesting place I visited was Phonm-Kulen. It's considered to be sacred and many would like to visit once a lifetime. Not very far from Angkor. Also there is  rock temple in here with a large reclining Buddha (I think the largest in Cambodia) - the difference is that it's in the opposite direction to what we normally see.
