Set autofix level to level 3 and it will patch any imperfections and give you a stealthed/verified copy of the game.  BANNING QUESTIONS: There has been much speculation that MW 2 has been the "reason" people think they're being banned. While we never know for certain, just because you played it and got banned doesn't mean that is WHY - you could just as well have been banned had you not played it. Microsoft can track in more ways that we know, and you risk a ban the second you flash your console, so don't blame MW 2 specifically. I, for one, have played this non stop and have not been banned. Any game you play is at your own risk, and this one is no different than the others...  NOTE: I know this is technically the wrong section, but there is A LOT of people looking for this download who don't bother looking elsewhere and end up posting their frustration/questions within the download threads, so if this is on the downloads page everyone will actually see it. So, there seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding what to do when downloading MW2, is it safe to play, will I get banned, so on and so forth.. so I thought I'd post a quick Q and A guide to help some people out. I'll add more questions as they arise... Q. Are the Modern Warfare 2 ISOs floating around here the retail version?A. Most of them are. Download any one you like and be sure to run through ABGX - the LATEST VERSION release 11/11/2009 - and set AutoFix to Level 3 to be sure it is properly stealthed and verified. **I'd like to take this time to give a HUGE shout out to our man core2inside (cfghjkl's poster) - who posted a 100% retail rip almost 2 weeks prior to the release date. I burned a copy of his game to a DVD a few days after he uploaded it, and when I ran it through the updated ABGX 1.0.2 today (11/12/2009) and, obviously since it's already burned, with NO AUTO FIX ON the game passed stealth and verification. Ok, so I've downloaded the game. When I run through abgx it says stealth is uncertain and verification failed. What gives, I though this was legit?A. This is because abgx is not yet updated for Wave 4 games, so stealth will always be uncertain until it can be verified, which is not until after the official release date. After release, stealth will first say uncertain but once verified it will also say stealth passed (at the bottom). For an example of what it should look like after release, Tekken 6 is a good example to run through abgx. This can take days or even weeks. Q. When I put the MW 2 disc that I burned into my Xbox 360, it says Play DVD. Why is this?A. This is because it is a Wave 4 game, and unless you have a Hitachi DVD drive with 1.51, you will need 1.6 firmware and "activate.iso" in order to play a Wave 4 game. Download and burn activate.iso from this direct MegaUpload link - [<a href="http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XATGHI3J" target="_blank">http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XATGHI3J</a>] and then follow these directions:- Burn using ImgBurn but be sure to go into the Write Settings (tools>settings>write) and change layer break setting to Optimal. (**BE SURE TO CHANGE THIS BACK WHEN FINISHED**)- Burn at 2.4x since it is such a small file and you don't want to skip any data.- ImgBurn will say that it is small enough to fit on a regular DVD. Ignore this and continue using a DL DVD by clicking YES.- ImgBurn will now ask you if you want to put this on one layer since it is small enough. Click YES.- When finished, insert the activate.iso disc into your Xbox 360.- Wait for it to say "Play DVD" on the screen.- When it does, remove the disc and put in your MW 2 disc. It will now say Play Modern Warfare 2.  **NOTE: Some users are reporting that they have to perform the following extra steps after inserting the activate.iso disc:- After inserting activate.iso to your console, hit Play DVD. It will load a white screen saying to play this disc, insert it in an Xbox 360 console.- When you see this message, eject the disc and put in your MW 2 disc. It will now say Play Modern Warfare 2 and you're all set to go.  Q. Is this rip safe to play online? Will I be bannedA. You will be drawing unwanted attention to your console so don't even risk it. Wait until the release date, and then you can play online all you like. If you want to play it now, take out your HDD and any memory units and disconnect all internet connections prior to the release date to be on the safe side. Some people may argue about the existence of the so-called NAND chip. However, its existence is yet to be proven, and even if it did this copy will match that of an actual retail release. Taking out the HDD and unplugging internet connection may help, consider it precautionary step. We never know whatMicrosoft looks for when suspecting a modded console, there may be unknown variables that they check being the game itself the major variable. The moment you flashed your drive, you already risked of being banned. Period.  Q. But you said it's retail. What if a retailer sells me a game early, surely you can't be banned for that!?!A. Technically speaking, you're correct. Playing this game online would be like getting a retail copy legit from a retailer sold to you before release date - which occasionally happens (Wal-Mart), and you can't be banned for that. That being said, with a release this big you will be drawing unwanted attention to your gamertag and console so I would not even risk it. If you want to play it, take out your HDD and any memory units and disconnect allinternet connections prior to the release date to be on the safe side.  Again, Microsoft may be checking not only the game to detect modded consoles but other things that we don't know - so if they detect you online prior to release, you can bet they'll be looking into things. ** There are certain retailers - Gamestop locations - who have been given the go ahead to start selling MW 2 today, Sunday November 8th, in some Northeastern states in the United States. If you see people on your friends list playing the game, don't assume it is safe to play your burned copy as they may have one of these legitimate copies and you don't want to draw suspicion to yourself.  Q. Can I play this game at all before release date?A. Yes, but to be on the safe side and to avoid any unwanted attention to your gamertag and/or console, remove your HDD and any other memory units and disconnect allinternet connections before doing so. This is the retail rip, so technically you should not have a  problem leaving the memory units in, but to be on the safe side you should always remove them until official release. Q. At some point when I am playing MW 2 it says disc unreadable. Why is this?A. This more than likely means you had a bad burn. Be sure to use all proper settings and use ImgBurn to burn your game and set your Write settings to user specified 1913760 in the Layer options. Obviously make sure you're using DL DVDs - I personally use Maxell DVD+R DL DVDs and they work with absolutely noproblem and my MW 2 copy has been flawless across all game modes, but another one of the best are the Verbatim DVD+R DLs. Another solution is to install the game to your hard drive and it usually gets rid of the disc read errors.**Memorex discs have been known to create disc read errors, especially with MW 2.** Q. I thought this game was called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. When I put it in my Xbox 360, it only says Modern Warfare 2. WTF?A. Apparently Activision and Infinity Ward can't get their branding straight. First, it was to be COD: MW2. Then, MW 2. Now, on the retail box art it is back to COD: MW2, however the actual disc reads it as MW 2. Confusing, I know...  Hopefully this can help some folks out there who are having a difficult time with this or understanding what they can/cannot do.
