Someone might argue that he is very much influenced from western style and trying to artificially dump it in to Sinhala lyrics. But what I felt is that the guys like Chaaminda & Kasun, they know what music is... doesn't matter its Eastern or Western but they have the knowledge to the perfection. Take Dr. Kemadasa for example.. he is not a composer who came from a eastern back ground.. yet he is still considered to be as the best composer that Sri Lanka has ever produced. What he did?... First he got the proper knowledge on music (western).. then he composed music with the blend of Sri Lankan and westen music.This is what Chaaminda is doing and this is what Kasun is doing..Another good example is A.R. Rahaman .. he is now world famous with his Slumdog millionaire stuff.. but his music is neither Hindustani or western..  That's why people love it.. and feel it..When it comes to 'Romantic Opera', I guess its a good effort to introduce opera style music to the Sri Lankan music stream. But there are very few people who can comeup with such splendid music and lyrics.Beleive me .. I don't have good new Sri Lankan music to listen.. I've been listening to Romantic Opera album over and over again because i've no other option..Modern Sri Lankan music is a real 'shit' and most TV/Radio stations backing those junks produced by Iraj and other RnB fools...So.. having people like Chaaminda, Kasun Kalhara, Nadeeka, Romaine Mendis, Sanjaya Apea.. etc is a big releif...  I don't know what 'Romanticism' is .. but I believe I felt it through this kind of music...
