I had to take about six or seven internal flights in China. These airports were in complete pandemonium. This was the first time they did not allow powerbanks and batteries on checked luggage. They were scanning every bag and if a battery is detected they had to find the owner to take it out. They had extra staff but everyone was taken unawares. Luckily we had all our power banks in hand carried luggage. But people unpacking taking their batteries out held up the check-in and resulting in delays. This was long before other airlines brought in this battery issue and brought forward rules for batteries in checked baggage.Can you guess the reason? The Chinese suspected the batteries as the cause of the MH370 disappearance.
