Long spine that looks slinky but is in fact very stiff and rigid. Sits like a baboon. Leaps like a starling in flight. Too fast to shoot, would take lucky reflex shot w/12g to bag one Torpid animal, active in summer. winters in inacessable cliffs. Creates bone piles in tree surrounded medows to attract prey. No environment produces enough biomass to support even a small group. They migrate through the trees They seem to have a 17-19 year cycle of return. They inhabit islands and the coast of San Fransisco bay since 1968. I gave up actively hunting it in 1993. A Mexican man told mrs Mcintosh in 1968 that we were dealing with a "chupachabre".
