For those who are smart and know what are doing, IT salaries are still way higher than ither fields. But if you came for money and have no passion, you “might” get a job with 300k starting salary. But you will struggle to keep up.Let me say one thing. If you have this doubt, that means you dont have a passion for tech. Go do something else. When I was at this stage, I had no doubt. Pay me or don’t, I was going to be an SE. Of course the money factor was there. But some days I was coding until 2 am and then waking up to go to school at 5:30. Thats when I was 13. I had no internet. So I was copy writing code snippets from the school library and running home to try them out in my old pc. Thats passion.  Its obvious coding was not a leisure time activity for me. It was my thing. Earlier you could get a job in IT, be good at it and make a living. You didn’t have to love it. But sadly not anymore. With the competition, if you don’t keep up, it will be depressing for you. You have to constantly learn and keep up with your colleagues. For someone with no passion for tech, it’ll be hard. Thats where the passion logic comes in. To constantly learn something, read about something, you have to be passionate about it. If you have it you will survive in IT. If you survive, you will make money. Obviously more than other fields.</blockquote>
