There was a known temp spiking issue on the i7-7700k which Intel is aware of but hasn't issued any microcode patch so far. But you have an i7 2600.Check the cooling.. is the fan properly seated - Intel stock cooler can appear like being seated when it is actually not - or even reapply the thermal compound.Intel CPUs are quite hardy and will thermal shutdown to protect itself from damage.</blockquote>
