We were All-Island Runners-Up in the best Cadet Band in 1993 and we are proud to announce that we were the best Cadet Band in Western Province [1996.]BasketballAlthough Basketball was introduced recently, within a short period we became the champions of the National School Games in Basketball. In 1996 we won the A division under-19, under-17 tournaments and were runners up in the under-15 age group.The Computer SocietyThis is the most active society in D.S.S.C. Students of all grades are now well versed in computing skills due to the efforts of this society. The Computer Laboratory which was the brainchild of one of the principals Mr. S. Kodikara, has a LAN Network comprising of 20 workstations and a 486 Server. The Society hopes to obtain Internet facilities for the laboratory & equip our students for the next millennium.The Prefect's GuildThe Prefect's Guild was one of the organs that was responsible for making the College into one of the most disciplined schools in Sri Lanka. The Guild comprises of a Head prefect, Deputy Head prefects, Senior prefects, Junior prefects and Student guides.The Interact ClubOne of the more dynamic clubs in school, Two of our Interactors won awards of excellence in the Youth Camp '96. Our Interactors also succeeded in bringing to our school The Championship trophies for Cricket & Basketball which they won at " Interaction '96 ".We were also the 1st runner-up in the " Interaction Song competition ". Our Interactors were in the organizing committees of "Youth Camp '96 "English Literary AssociationThe English Literary Association has excelled in Drama & we have won the championship at the Inter School Shakespeare Drama Competition for two consecutive years in 1993 and 1994.</blockquote>
