His vehicle was badly damaged and at least one of the bodyguards died on the spot.The bomb blast in Kollupitiya, Colombo injured seven Army personnel and seven civilians. One Army personnel is in very serious condition.The injured are under treatment at the Colombo General Hospital.The incident is apparently a suicide attack where a three wheeler has knocked on to the convoy of vehicles of the Defence Secreatry. The destroyed parts of the three-wheeler was scattered at the scene.Police are investigating the crime scene.The blast took place at a busy commercial centre of capital.
