Academic (Degree) Programs will teach you the basics & once you are done you can do a MBA / MSC specializing your area. CIMA or any other regarded as Professional qualification specializing the particular field such as Financial Accounting (ACCA), Management Accounting (CIMA), Marketing (CIM). all these are reputed professional qualifications.But when it comes to jobs normally those who are having Both (Academic+Professional) will have a definite advantage & those who are having one single qualification may face difficulties However, CIMA & ACCA it self having degree programs & in ACCA you can do BSC Applied Accounting & Finance from Oxford Brooks University & even now extended to MSC from University of London. Suggestion try to do both same areas covered.</blockquote>
