He says present conditions within the IDP camps remain to be of grave concern He also urged the Government of Sri Lanka to ensure the safety and release of the three doctors who, according to him, were providing care and assistance and informed the world about the human tragedies that were taking place in the conflict zone.    Sunanda Deshapriya said the media and journalists have been subjected to intimidation, harassment and threats to their lives. There has been a sharp increase of uninvestigated killings and disappearances of journalists, media workers, human rights defenders and religious personalities. He said In order to enable enhanced scrutiny, sustainable human rights monitoring and effective implementation of technical cooperation programmes, the strengthened presence of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Sri Lanka, including through the establishment of a field office should be seriously considered.    Sunanda Deshapriya, an NGO activist, was sacked from the Centre for Policy Alternatives (CPA) after an inquiry into a million rupee fraud that had occurred in the center.Free Media Movement (FMM) began an investigation into a million rupee fraud by Sunanda Deshapriya. Several international and local organizations too had complained to FMM regarding his financial dealings.</blockquote>
