:dull:It looked so dull without people to watch all the demonstrations. There was only a tent full of intelligent people like Wimal Rajapakse who knows how to use the war situation for personal gain. Without people to watch and participate where can be a festival. Now it is taken for granted that war is over. More time they spend for capturing Mulative the whole war would become a joke. It happened at Kilinochchi. It will be worse at Mulative after capturing the rest of the North. Probably there must be many, especially people who earn out of war, do not want to end this war. So some doubt that this will ever be over. But without reaching the end of war Mahinda can't sustain his popularity which balances the mass corruption of Govt and colleagues. And there is the danger of losing the popularity after the war is over also haunts the Govt. Now all this equipment and people looked like used tooth phase tubes at the vicinity of the end of war. The same thing can happen to the people who run war. Sinhalese are not a gratefull nation anymore. They don't even respect Buddha now. Politicians have destroyed those feelings systematically to rule easily. It is not surprising to see that backfire at them. And if people honestly celebrated Independence day there could be a flag at every house. Government could have used them as a celebration for war victory as they used fire crackers available at new year time to use for Kilinochchi victory. Few who has no intelegence to make the connection could have been deceived. But it was visble that majority of people dismissed that as a false gesture. I think people celebrated the cricket world cup victory with more festivity. A govt which ignores the welfare of people will be definitely ignored by people even more. The people who are deceived are becoming less and less. Now the govt will have to turn on other tactics like force to win elections. But it is more honarable to be defeated by power than being deceived. I am proud to be one of the Sinhalese people who are not deceived by state Tele-dramas, cheaply made.:D
