(the folder with eldorado.exe)- Run the updater and let it verify your installation, if any files aren't what it expects it'll alert you. <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/frown.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":frown:" title="Frown    :frown:" data-shortname=":frown:" />- Once the files are verified the updater will contact the update server and offer to download the latest version. <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/dull.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":dull:" title="Dull    :dull:" data-shortname=":dull:" />- After the update files have been downloaded the updater will make backups of certain files it needs to modify.   MAKE SURE YOU DON'T REMOVE THESE BACKUPS - They'll be needed for you to update to later ElDewrito versions.   Updater backup files will be stored in a new folder inside your Halo Online directory, under _dewbackup.<img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/eek.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":eek:" title="eek    :eek:" data-shortname=":eek:" />- Once all the files have been downloaded and patched you can close the updater and run eldorado.exe to start Halo Online!If you want to reupload ElDewrito anywhere please only reupload the updater and config file, along with this readme. -------------------  GETTING STARTED <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/nerd.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":nerd:" title="Nerd    :nerd:" data-shortname=":nerd:" />-------------------To start with you should set a player name, once you're on the main menu just:- Open the ElDewrito console (alt+tab out if you're in full screen, the game is coded well and supports alt+tabbing fine)- Type "name [name you want]" (without brackets) to set your name.Your name will be saved to playername.txt and loaded next time you run the game.If you don't set your name a random default one will be given to you.To make use of the system link multiplayer online you'll need to download a virtual LAN application, the ElDewrito developers recommend Evolve (<a href="http://www.evolvehq.com/" target="_blank">http://www.evolvehq.com/</a>)If you use Evolve you should join the Halo Online evolve group! We're at <a href="https://www.evolvehq.com/groups/halo-online" target="_blank">https://www.evolvehq.com/groups/halo-online</a>For those unfamiliar with Halo 3 accessing system link is easy:- Choose custom games from the main menu- Press the "Network: Local" button and scroll to the System Link option- Press right and choose either Host Game or Join Game, if hosting you'll be sent back to the lobby but the network will change to "Network: System Link"- Wait for others to join your game, then start it and have fun!- If joining a game you'll be shown a game browser where you can select games being hosted on your LAN/virtual LAN-------------------    HOW TO PLAY <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/rolleyes.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":rolleyes:" title="Rolleyes    :rolleyes:" data-shortname=":rolleyes:" />-------------------To navigate the menus use the following controls:(or you can enable XInput controller support by going to Settings -> Controls and changing the control method.)- Arrow keys: navigate menu- A: same as controller A button, use it to make selections etc.- B: same as controller B button, use it to go back a menu etc.If you're hosting a lobby you can also edit various game options such as shield strength, damage reduction, gravity %, etc.Press X (on controller or keyboard) while inside the lobby to show the game options menu(there's currently no indication for this, but pressing X will bring it up)When ingame you can bring up the ingame menu with ESC or the start button, then click on Leave Game to bring up the original Halo 3 pause menu. From this menu you can change teams, leave the game, end the game if your host and do various other things.NOTE: ONCE YOU OPEN THE HALO 3 PAUSE MENU IT CAN'T BE CLOSED!
