Most of the salary ranges posted here are not realistic at all for fresh graduates. You could go for a higher salary depending on how much talent you have and how you demonstrate it during the interview, but most companies have upper limits for these positions as well. If you are looking for your first job in IT, don't get depressed your starting salary was not 2lakhs or 1lakh. Also, don't give a crap about how much others people are earning or what they say they are earning. If it's a decent enough salary and the place is good for learning, join it. With experience and as you learn stuff, all these magical looking salaries will come to you.In our company, we don't really give a damn about which university they are from. Even if someone doesn't hold a degree he/she could still get recruited if they are exceptional talents in the software field. What matters for us when recruiting is how much ability you have and how good values you have as a human being. Even if you are a wizard in coding but act like an asshole, chances are you won't get hired.</blockquote>
