Yeah i'm using the same modem and i've been having the same problem. I've been solutionless for quite a long time now....but recently i got a breakthrough:lol: I found out that this crashing problem is because the Connexant chip in the modem is heating up with long use and then i guess the modem just crashes. Now the best solution to try out would be a heatsink and a fan. I couldn't get to it coz these days i'm busy with my exam work:( However i tried out by opening the plastic cover of the modem and i rigged a big 120mm fan over it. That cooled down the chip quite a lot and i can use it now lengthened periods of time without getting my PC crashed. But....this is not a permanent solution. I've been wondering we can do the same thing we do for our processors here as well...we could apply thermal paste on the chip and fix up a fan and a heatsink (an old 486 processor heatsink and fan would do i think). Only probel is getting the power supply whichll have to be external plus you'll have to keep the modem PCB open. But i guess a new plastic casing would be possible too. I'm thinking of trying it out in my hols. PS-i've also tried out a new method...i won't describe it. Just see for yourselves. (don't laugh ok....):D:D:D:D:P:P:P
