"Ing" is an old Germanic suffix meaning "people"; thus "F*cking," in this case, means “place of Focko’s people.  F*cking's most famous feature is a traffic sign with its name on it, beside which English-speaking tourists often stop to have their photograph taken. It is a commonly stolen street sign. In August 2005 the road signs were replaced with theft-resistant signs welded to steel and secured in concrete to make the signs harder to take.  The strange questions that are always put up and proves to be an embarrasment for the residents of this small village are--  Are the residents called F*ckers?  What are the mothers called?  What would you be learning at the F*cking High School?  Does the F*cking Hospital help you with anything else?</blockquote>
