First of all as we all know BEng refers to Bachelor of Engineer whereas BSc is Bachelor of Science. :) Both are similar courses but there are certain aspects in BEng and BSc to think about. One thing is BSc is offered in every science degree so one may even wonder whether this is a engineering degree or not.but if it is mentioned as BSc in Engineering, then its all good. One major difference between BEng and BSc is BSc is more theoretical whereas BEng is more practical.A BSc is ordinarily classed as a more general course. Lot's of things are for the purposes of degree courses are considered "science". You will probably find that the BEng has a greater emphasis on engineering aspects, particularly electronics and electrical circuits, than the BSc.BEng will be more rigorous and hands on. Another point is most of the Universities in the world are now tend to provide BEng degrees instead of BSc hence most of the BEng degrees are accredited and BSc are not accredited.(In most cases) A BEng is more specialist and relates to engineering proper; i.e. civil, structural, chemical, electrical, mechanical, agricultural, mining etc. So you should therefore check whether any BSc course is accredited with the major engineering institutions in your country. As example for Civil Engineering, in the UK the key one for Civil engineers is the IMechE (http://www.imeche.org).
