Message: <blockquote data-quote="lkdood" data-source="post: 9924539" data-attributes="member: 92282">Sri Lanka Irrigation Department says that  water reservoirs in several districts have reached spill levels due to  heavy rains experienced in the area.   Deputy Irrigation Director Janaki Meegaswewa has told the media that  24 tanks in three districts have reached spill level and that 13 of  them are already over spilling. Meegaswewa has said that spill gates in several tanks in the  Anuradhapura, Kurunegala and Hambantota districts have been opened. Spill gates in the Rajanganaya tank in Anuradhapura, Lunugamvehera,  Mawara, Muruthawela reservoirs in Hambantota and Ambakolawewa, Halwatuna  and Magalla tanks in Kurunegala have been opened. Authorities have opened six spill gates of the Inginimitiya  reservoir in the Puttalam district of the Northwestern Province this  morning.   People living in low lying areas have been warned of possible floods.
