(and u say sl is democratic how dare u ) there were many froud acts with forgin observers being chased away , politicians entering into counting centres ect happing through out .2)what do u mean they let the other parties go ? he distroyed them very intelligently . bribing key players in the parties to his side . (which i believe is a strong reason for MR's ability to dominate )and u jst cant kill em all lik a wild wild west shootout now can u . if the opposition becomes a inevitable threat that person will b delt with . sajith premadasa is still not even the party leader ship so a long way b4 MR plans anythin for him .im talkin abt people who made an impact a present eg: lasantha wickramathunga, SF ,news chanels , new paper organisations ect.3)well not really that power really didnt have any effect. cus even though how much the unp ridiculed the war out side parliment or inside it at times when ever there was a casting of votes it supported it or stayed without casting their vote . (including the JVP) . the emergency law for example was passed on without any disapproval by the unp at that time.and at that time the government had a fair majority and wasnt in any way abt to fall ! so there was no issue in that case either. so no the powers didnt help dear.and u also say that devolpment that never happened earlier is happening now ! well i think u missed the time when JR came in to power ! there was soo much of devolopment done by our people with our resources with money that was taken with low or little intrest and very few conditions. i would say that was the best time if devolopment is concerned . (not it all sides good but devolopment side it was the best since u asked now all v hav is more violance than there eva was with not even half the devolopment)</blockquote>
