Main reason is modric is 31 and will play 3,4 years  more and likely to retire. (contract up until 2020). And it feels like he'll drop down to a much more defensive role with time. Kroos (whom I admire <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/love.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":love:" title="Love    :love:" data-shortname=":love:" />) said that he has no intention to play after 31,32 years of age. got until 2021. Both are likely to retire at Madrid. (Which is really rare but I think with Zidane, Perez and the board are valuing the players more than before.) James is still 25. Definitely he can get better with age. After Kroos and Modric are gone, it'll come to Isco & James. That's why I think both of them should stay thinking for the future. No other team in the world has this kind of quality in the bench. Specially the young midfielders of James, Isco, Vazquez & Asensio. Maybe a Loan move will be for the best.</blockquote>
