Lozano: I hope God gives me Premier League chance Mexico and PSV star Hirving “Chucky” Lozano hopes God will allow him the opportunity to play in the Premier League. The forward had been linked to a move to England even before joining the Dutch side from Liga MX club Pachuca in the summer of 2017.A debut season which saw him score 17 goals and add eight assists in the Eredivisie did nothing to lessen talk of a Premier League transfer. This season Lozano has not slowed down, already netting eight times and adding four assists in just eleven Eredivisie clashes. He’s also added another goal and assist in the Champions League. And Lozano did not downplay his desire to eventually get his opportunity in the English top-flight, telling ESPN he thinks it would be “fabulous” to get the chance to feature in the Premier League.Specifically, Lozano is hoping for a shot at one of the league’s top clubs."I hope that God, some day, gives me a shot at playing in the Premier League," Lozano told ESPN after his club’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham at Wembley. "I like it very much. "I think the Premier League is great. I think that it would be fabulous to play with any of the clubs, but I would love to play for one of the big clubs. I hope that God gives me the chance."PSV’s hopes of making the knockout stages of the competition came to an end with the defeat against Spurs. Handed perhaps the most difficult foursome of the group stage, Lozano admitted it was a hard situation for he and his team-mates but that they needed to learn from the experience."The truth is that our group [which also includes Barcelona and Inter Milan] was a complicated one, with great players and great clubs," he said. "We fought hard at each match to try to do our best. It is a pity that their last goal went in after all that rebounding, but that is football. We have to keep improving and keep learning a lot from these beautiful tournaments. It's a wonderful experience. "My takeaway is that I have gained a lot of experience and a lot of learning. I think I've enjoyed it to the max and I've given my best, and that is the most important thing." A place in the Europa League knockout round is not yet out of the question yet, and, in addition to his Premier League dream, Lozano is also hoping for some divine intervention when it comes to their chances of finishing third in the group. "We are going to give it our best shot over the next two matches. I hope that we get a little help from above," he said.
