The victims have been identified as British nationals. The killing and the injury had taken place during a clash erupted  during a Christmas party held in a tourist hotel in Medilla, Tangalle,  sources said. The victim had reportedly tried to intervene to stop a brawl between two local factions resulting in his death.   The injured woman was later transferred to Karapitiya teaching hospital in Galle city. The deceased is 27 years old and the wife is 24 years, police say. They have arrived in Sri Lanka on December 17.   No suspects has been arrested yet. Tangalle police are investigating the incident.
