I mean people mostly in Northern area (Jaffna and ...). Because we all know Tamil people living in mid country are came from India relatively later. I got this question into the mind by some article i read recently on internet. It could be biased  or fake , but it said Tamil people lived in Sri Lanka before Sinhalese came (which said Sinhalese comes from King Vijaya or something )I strongly believe All people should and can  live in harmony in ONE Sri Lanka.
