Honestly nobody can say what games will demand next year or the year after that High end motherboards have a better power delivery system, better built in audio, RGB control, more inputs, built in wifi, better design, etc. Performance wise there's no significant difference, but it's good to pair high end cpus with high end motherboards. B350 will be fine for i5 8400 and and so is b250 for i5 7500Also nvidia is planning to release volta next year. So keep an eye on that too. The released tesla v100 have a significant performance compared to it's pascal counterpart the tesla p100.
