This is oone of those songs that could leave a deep mark in you heart, the melody, and specially for someone like me who's first language is not English, simple & clearly understandable words, give you a lasting impression, for me it's like love @ first sight. I came across this song for the first time, about 10yrs ago, while listening to Lite / Gold FM in my car. That's the original version, then I saw Westlife version over Mtv. I still remember those instances..........so is the intensity of this song. I can remember few songs which had impact me in this manner. Melody & lyrics both give you a meloncholy sort of feeling, yet you try to get parallel with them and try to live with the song, try to be the main cast of the story (This is the way I felt, even though I write this in third person), then, once the song is over, you feel like switch off the radio & take a deep breath..........more you listen to this song more deppressed you get...........I dont know if it's a good or bad thing. Now, Thanx to Ravi, I know the story behind the song......and could get more deppressed. When I first listened to this song, I didnt really comprehend the verse for his Dad , mainly, back in SL we were made to believe that Westerners do not have close family ties. Since then, I have ganed a slight understanding about the family ties in Western culture & also I have a son myself now. This help me to understand the intensity of the verse for his Dad. All & all a great song, I'm sure this song will echo in my ear & my heart for the next few days or may be weeks........................ Thanx Ravi for walking us this path......................
