This is going to be a major setback until (or if) they can overcome it.# Donald Trump already tottering empire is going to slide into yet another of his many bankruptcies - Besides the decline in business due to his controversial policies and practices, Trump's businesses were always on life support anyway as they depended upon travel, disposable income, and the airlines being active. Since they cannot count on those things now, and since they were servicing major interest loads on their debt, anything other than a brief shutdown is going to result in their having to seek financial protection in the courts. That's another reason why his lackluster response to this crisis is so puzzling as he knows that the economy faltering is not beneficial to his companies in any manner.# Iran is going to become more dangerous - Most of the nation's current leadership is in the age range where the pandemic has been claiming the most lives. If a sizable number of those people grow ill or die, they are going to be replaced by less pragmatic individuals who will blame sanctions for much of their nation's suffering and will probably lash out as a result.# The world illegal drug trade, as well as the trafficking in human beings, are going to be vectors for the pandemic and may result in new outbreaks later when the main event itself has passed - Basically the trades in drugs and human beings are unregulated in normal times, and these times aren't normal. No one is testing drug traffickers who cross borders; nor is the prevention of exploitable migrants from nations with substandard health care being addressed. The two are likely going to create reservoirs of contagion which are going to be problems for decades to come.# Businesses which were already troubled are going to be finished by the pandemic - Say goodbye to Applebees, Macy's, JCPenny's, a number of smaller retailers and restaurant chains, and at least one of the major movie theater chains. Additionally, small local businesses which are barely surviving now are going to be finished by the shutdown, and by the fact when things taper off their potential customers won't have disposable income to spend at them. The business landscape is going to be radically different by the end of 2020 than it is today.# A number of less financially successful colleges and universities are going to close down - The end of the education boom sparked by the 2007-8 economic crisis was beginning to taper anyway and the prospect of missing 2-3 semesters of enrollments is going to cripple many of the institutions already experiencing financial difficulties.
