In my point of view this banning is not going to help security forcers much. Instead of banning devices they should deny its usage in sensitive areas (ie use GPS jammers). Using GPS jammers around the sensitive areas will deny position location with mobile phone GPS or any other GPS imported legally or smuggled in. And it will not hamper any civilian activity on other parts of the country. This could be similar to GSM jammers fixed (said to be) at parliament and turning off GSM cells on active operation areas.Also you may have to remember GPS is not the only way of position locating. Even a GSM phone (even without GPS) can be used as crude position locating device.</blockquote>
