He and his colleagues ‘Thummulle Veeraya,’ Jonston Fernando and Mervyn Silva are living in a world of star gazers and lotus eaters,” the people have realized he said.</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>A certain minister has said that it was he who chased Poddala Jayantha away and that he would break the legs of other journalists as well who have gone to Geneva against the government. This then is the true face of the government which has promised to ensure media freedom at the United Nations Human Rights Council. Minsiter G.L. Peris has condemned this impudent statement made by Minister Mervyn Silva, he added.</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Parliamentarian Harin Fernando further said humanitarian activists Sunila Abeysekara, Pakiayasothy Saravanamuthu and Nimalka Fernando who had gone to Geneva had been threatened by some of the government delegates, little realizing that a country’s voting is decided not by various activists but by the head of that government.</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Instead of sending a 71-strong delegation at state expense to Geneva, better results could have been obtained if 2 members each were sent to several voting countries.</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>“In spite of what the government says we lost the vote at Geneva miserably and there is no excuse.
