When Harry initially does nothing Snape says that he will get rid of the snake, but then Harry shouts at it in Parseltongue, and Snape gives him a “shrewd and calculating” look.Now, it could be coincidence, although I would have thought there were at least hundreds of better duelling spells he could have suggested. Or Dumbledore could have asked him to introduce that spell, because Dumbledore wanted to know if Harry was a Parselmouth. Or Snape could have been wondering that himself. Either way, if he’s already aware that Harry feels like the Dark Lord, that will reinforce the impression.</blockquote>
