Message: <blockquote data-quote="sri_lion" data-source="post: 974983" data-attributes="member: 4103">Dec 01, Colombo: Coalition of Health Workers' Trade Unions has decided to call out an island wide strike action against the use of electronic finger print machines as a method of monitoring their attendance to work.The strike action is to be taken on Monday and Tuesday of next week. All the workers except doctors and some sections of the nursing staff are to join the trade union action.Meanwhile, in response to the trade union action, the Health Ministry has decided to terminate employment of temporary substitute workers under the Ministry who would participate in the strike. For those substitute workers who attend the work, the Ministry is considering to pay doubled wages and also to offer one or two pay hikes.
