I managed to get to Safe Mode and changed the 'Transfer Mode' to PIO Only. After that the computer booted (very slowly). but when I try to set the transfer mode to 'DMA' I get the same error.So, I replaced the old 40 Wire cable and the computer booted without problems.The following errors ware logged in the Event Viewer when the 80 Wire cable is present.Event ID - 11Type - ErrorSource - DiskThe driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\D.
