She has to have something that sets her apart from the  other girls around her, something that makes her popular and makes  everyone vote for her and not the other nominees. In fact, to get even  nominated is pretty big in it self.      So the first criterion of a <a href="http://www.nexteve.com/catalog/homecoming-dresses" target="_blank">homecoming queen</a> is obviously her  popularity and how quickly people are willing to follow her and vote for  her. To become that popular you need to work at your people skills but  it just comes naturally to some. So they just become popular without  trying too hard. Usually however, the popularity of the homecoming queen  is not only based on how she treats other people but also on her  actions. This means everything she has done for her school or her  varsity and other activities that may not be directly related. She may  be a very bright student who has been nationally recognized or she may  be a very good athlete who has brought the school or varsity many  prizes. So it is usually someone who is quite outstanding.      There is also another factor involved here and that is charm. Charm is  something that can make up for any thing that is missing and without it,  it is very hard to get by for someone who wants to win on popular  votes. This is why sometimes people gush about homecoming queens being  very 'hot' but they aren't always referring to the chosen girl being  physically attractive but they are also saying that people want to be in  her company. She is actively sought out by people and that means she is  in demand all over the place. This is what I would refer to as being  'hot'.      And you will notice this being true in a lot of situations where it is  not necessarily the prettiest or the most beautiful girl who is the most  popular. It is someone who has a personality that is attractive and is  dynamic enough to attract friends from a very wide range of people.</blockquote>
