HOT NEWS : Linux 2.6.30 Released

I'm using Karmic Koala with kubuntu. Doesnt have any problems with it.
Sure its got bug fixes. Good thing its that they are getting fixed. Almost on a daily basis.

BTW karmic Koala will be getting a 10 seconds boot time when the final version gets released.

sounds interesting, trying to find sm one with ADSL to have a Copy. . I'll take a look as soon as i got one.

Well I am a long time Fedora user since Ret hat Linux 6.

actually fedora 11 has the 2.6.29 kernel. It boots at less that 30 seconds because its made to boot in 20 seconds.

yup... Well technically it boots in 20 seconds... For the whole process it takes only 30...

PClinuxOS comes with KDE.
Its a custom Distro based on Mandriva but with the apt package management system. Quite nice. Its not as bulky as Mandriva.

Don't choose Mandriva As the 1st. its Really lack of sup and considered as outdated.

If you are looking for the usability and Eye catching look. go for Linux mint.

Open suse is good but Novell (Developers of Suse) got ethical probs with Linux (well, FOSS) Commiunity so i can't recommand it.

Gentoo is a good choice for a power user. it lets for a gr8 Manual customization. but if you are looking for noobfriendly OS. Gentoo is not gud..

in that case. welcome to the Slackware world. i'm a big fan for long tym (but hvn't used it for last 3months),Slackware team is keeping the line between CLI and GUI. its gr8 if you hate rats and in curious to c wht happen inside. yes gentoo is also good for you... anyway don't go for mandriva eather. ubuntu is not enough for you.
