In this laptop we got 2 hard drive bays as this is 17" system...I bought this without the hard drive so there are no hard drives inside....<img class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" />Now finally take this power button from the heatsink...its not necessary but let's do it anyways<img screws.. unscrew them and pull the motherboard slowly while doing it remove these cables shown<img src="http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/t455/nfar8063/IMG_2030.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii It's a pain stripper... this is not the professional way I do is but this is the only way we can use at home....<img src="http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/t455/nfar8063/IMG_2040.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" />The air temperature is 400c in this air gun so I'm heating the video chip NOT MORE THAN 20 SECS<img src="http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/t455/nfar8063/IMG_2041.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" />If you don't have an air gun you can use the oven... wrap the motherboard fully and make an open where the nVidia chip is..Select the temp for 200c and Preheat the oven for 20 mins.. Switch off the oven and leave the motherboard there for 10 minutes....Whatever method you do you MUST leave the motherboard to cool down for 50 minutesNow apply the thermal compound on Processor, Video Chip and on northbridge <img src="http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/t455/nfar8063/IMG_2045.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /><img src="http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/t455/nfar8063/IMG_2047.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" />Now use two copper shims on top of the video chip and northbridge chip..we use this cause these copper shims will conduct properly with the heatsink and transfer the heat more than before, also it applies a little pressure on chips so there are less chance that the chip becomes lose..<img src="http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/t455/nfar8063/IMG_2050.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" />Now fix the laptop carefully and don't ever mix the screw sizes.. it will damage the base and the plastic...Now I'm installing Windows 7  <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/wink.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=";)" title="Wink    ;)" data-shortname=";)" /><img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/wink.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=";)" title="Wink    ;)" data-shortname=";)" /><img src="http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/t455/nfar8063/IMG_2055.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" />sorry for not posting this thread in sinhala cause it's really hard to type my friends.... Hope you will get something from this and I will post more posts about laptop repairing...This method can be used on faulty nVdia and ATI graphics cards but this is not the proper way to do it. This might last long or sometimes it won't So I will show you the proper way to reball the chips but we need a rework station for that...
