its not as hard as u think currpt da bios even they hv used many no of bios chips cos all r progmble romz..even the tools they hv released to update da bios,hv same ability...
It is HARD.But as I mentioned windows updates as a failure mainly due to this. But as an ASUS owner,This isnt a problem. With QFlash I just need to put the BIOS ROM in a flash drive and boot it up and start QFlash.Voila,Its done.

The only advice is, DO NOT FLASH FROM WINDOWS :D

Still, there is a risk of a bad flash. That's why the manufacturer insist not to flash BIOS unless an update specifically addresses an issue you are facing. Though I love to update the BIOS whenever there is a newer version, I do not let my feelings get over me (anymore) :D

I've never faced a bad flash,VGA or mobo since 2002,So still continueing flashing. Will learn it the hard way.Besides ASUS have great flash utilities(EXCEPT windows :P)So no worries for me.Anyway I have a good practice of this as I flashed many mobos in my friends shop.So the experience may be the factor in this.

    :D

ya almost evry hardware has it own bios rom...so if u intrsted u can update any of these if thr manufactrs release the tool+rom file...

there is no risk if u updat da bios with correct tools+romfile...
ihv updated my dvd r/rw + router mobo..vga and soo on no probs soo far except 1...
ihv lost ma samsung cd-rom..thn i replace da rom wit older samsung cd,rom..its work like chrm..

    so
for newbies, my advice is do not update bios if u dont face any trouble wit thm, even bios updating is kiddies work..;)

nd use only manufactures linkz to download romfilez+tools...

    or

thr is no warry whn u hv dual bios or same functinz...
