Limit the content of placards to ones in this list (link).</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">3. The IT Industry Protest is by IT Professionals and not thugs and hooligans. Let’s make sure</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">we and the invitees understand and act accordingly.</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-size: 18px">Before you leave home/office:</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">1. Dress in black or in a color closer to black.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">2. Pack your placard.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">3. Bring reusable water bottles (optionally a few extras for others who might need it).</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">4. Bring sweets to share with others (again think green and avoid plastic/polythene wrapped</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">snacks).</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">5. Be ready for power cuts. Make sure your mobile is fully charged.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">6. Be prepared for the rain (have a cap, an umbrella depending on the weather situation closer</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">to the event, and avoid using helmets).</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">7. Have a snack before coming (be prepared for 3-4 hour stay).</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">8. Walk or use public transport to come to the venue (there is very limited parking near the</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">Liberty roundabout and it will be difficult to find parking at that time).</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-size: 18px">During the protest:</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 18px">1. This is a peaceful protest. No violence or damage to public property at any cost.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">a. You might be insulted or ridiculed or physically attacked (highly unlikely).</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">b. Be vigilant for anyone who is suspicious and trying to incite violence and distance</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">yourself and your group from them.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">2. Maintain professionalism at all times.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">a. No obscene language or words that are insulting to specific groups or genders.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">b. No obscene placards or statements.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">c. Don’t target anybody, personally.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">d. Focus on establishing political stability, a corruption free and transparent governance</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">and the right policy reforms to build this country and the IT industry.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">3. Focus the slogans only to the ones agreed (link).</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">4. Do not block/disturb traffic.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">a. Do not step on to the road during the protest and cause traffic congestion.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">b. Do not block pavements and cause inconvenience to pedestrians or cause</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">pedestrians to step on to the road to get past the protest.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">5. Take photos, videos and share on social media.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">6. This is a protest and not a party.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">a. It is not a “big match” and we should avoid giving that impression at all costs.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">b. No alcohol!</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">i. Do not come if you are drunk.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">ii. Do not consume alcohol during the protest.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">7. Take back all placards, water bottles, etc that you brought to the venue.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">2. Travel or walk-away peacefully.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">3. Clean the venue. Leave Liberty Junction as it was before our protest at a bare minimum.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">In an emergency (unlikely):</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">1. Leave the venue safely and quickly towards Vihara Mahadevi park.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">2. Avoid moving towards any high security areas.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px">3.
