[QUOTE="Salafist, post: 17474051, member: 518589"] I'm aware of how Albert Einstein looked at religion....but then again he was a man of science..Not a man of religion. His words on religion hold very less water to us muslims...but some comments from a man of science could be encouraging. I think Buddhism fits in very well because it's very vague and not precise. You say anyone can get this knowledge through meditation..but I don't think so. From a muslim perspective meditation isn't that good for us humans. It could make our minds weak and thus prone to demons and devils. But it could strengthen our minds as well...but who knows? I don't agree with this eastern and western science. Western science can easily be understood and is solid. While Eastern science (or in particular sinhalese science) is very less convincing. One could easily adapt this science with the minimum amount of evidence. Science relies on the scientific method...but Eastern science isn't science then. It could be like the occult...undiscovered science ....or yet undiscovered by western science...but it could be a fraud as well. You need good solid empirical proofs. So on one hand, Buddhism has an edge over other religions due to it's scientific flexibility....but on the other hand, certain buddhists teachings like rebirth or so...I reckon..is less convincing. Other religions isn't about science or philosophy. They are belief systems that transcends science...because Science like this world is created...it changes...it adapts...it is uncertain. You need like an anchor to believe in science...you need to have faith in the scientific method. What we see in one place might not be the same else where. How do you know reality exists in the first place? Are we in an illusion? Are our observations infallible? Religion has an anchor. And it's anchor is God. About that Buddhist worship...that's informative. But I think it's vain yeah? Why do all these things if the Buddha cannot hear/see or feel you? In Islam and other Abrahamic faiths....worship belongs to God alone. We aren't allowed to bow or kneel before someone even for respect. And if we do...we have the right intentions of respect and not worship or excessive admiration. We need to be careful in this because it's a test from God.
