Message: <blockquote data-quote="BUA" data-source="post: 38042" data-attributes="member: 12">Isipatana hopes of competing in the Singer inter-school 'A' division league tournament from next year will be in the balance as the disciplinary committee of the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association are set to meet today to decide their future following a protest made by Royal College.Isipatana emerged runners up in the Singer inter-school 'B' division league tournament and are set to receive a promotion into the 'A' division along with Trinity College who emerged unbeaten champions.However Isipatana have alleged to have fielded a player who is not eligible to be in school during their traditional fixture against Royal College which was worked off on August 26 at the Royal College Sports Complex, Independence Avenue.The Principal of Royal College had informed Isipatana College prior to this game to refrain from fielding a team comprising students who have sat the GCE Ordinary Level Examination in two consecutive years and have failed in their second attempt as well.Such students are ineligible to remain in school in terms of Department of Education and are treated as school leavers.The Principal of Royal College in his letter to the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association further states that despite the assurance given by the Principal of Isipatana College they appear to have reneged on their promise to refrain from playing a student who is not eligible to be in school.In addition Isipatana have alleged to have violated clause 4 (a) of the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association tournament rules by registering a player who is ineligible to be in school, for the purpose of representing the school in the division one tournament.Meanwhile sources from Isipatana said that they have not violated any tournament rules and have clearly followed Department of Education regulations in selecting their team for the match against Royal College.</blockquote>
