I upgraded my Ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10 and KDE 4.1 and had a miserable time. Sure the KDE 4.1 is nice looking with all the graphics and effects but it still has too much bugs and keeps crashing. I'll be waiting until it becomes somewhat more stable before trying it out.However both Kmail 1.10.1 and Kopete 0.60.1 (both comes with KDE 4.1) works well and looks much better and I have them running without any problems now in my XFCE4 desktop (After KDE hosed the GUI, I took it out and installed XFCE4).If memory serves, Lenny still doesnt have KDE 4.1 in the repos right ?</blockquote>
