Hi Everyone, I'm a PhD student from Sri Lanka currently pursuing my studies in USA and I'm posting this thread here to address an important issue related to our undergraduate studies, hoping that some Elakiri members will benefit from this. It is generally accepted that most of our undergraduates do not look beyond the traditional job hunt after completing their Bachelor's degree and end up either frustrated with not having a job or barely satisfied with a modest job that doesn't meet their expectations. Very few students look beyond this traditional view and go into further studies that could open up a large number of avenues for them. Therefore, we, a group of PhD and Masters students from Sri Lanka, who are currently pursuing graduate studies in other countries (mainly in USA) have started a website named "Beyond Bachelor's" to help our undergraduate students in applying for Masters and PhD studies in other countries. We make an effort to advice the current undergraduates on the opportunities that exist in other countries, the benefits of having a graduate degree - to both the student and the country as a whole, and to help them achieve those targets. The website provides absolute free service and continues to attract the voluntary service of many Sri Lankan students who have crossed the borders to follow their higher studies. Again, visit Beyond Bachelor's. Graduate studies is not an expensive ordeal if you know the right way to go about it. You'll find a lot of resources that will help you decide on your life beyond your bachelor's degree.
