This is the first time a Sri Lankan woman won first place in this category apart from the four mini titles, Miss Photogenic, Miss Glamour, Best National Costume and Miss Catwalk. Nadeeka told the Sunday Observer that her victory opened many opportunities and she was very glad that the experience she gained will help develop Sri Lanka’s fashion industry.
