The outage is an  impact of the failure of a vital undersea submarine cable system near  Italy, as it has hit the broadband connections in India. The maintenance of the undersea cables will continue for another three  days, which may cause more disruption in services. The South East  Asia-Middle East-West Europe 4 (SEA-ME-WE 4) project links the two  regions via the Indian sub-continent and the Middle East.
